Judean Hills Wine Festival
During the month of October, 25 wineries in the region will be open to members of the public. Visits to the wineries will be free. To obtain a full schedule of which wineries will be open on which days telephone *8108.
Every Friday, those can spend 50NIS and get a tour of local wineries. Meet in the Beit Shemesh train station. Reservations can be made by telephoning *8108.
Participating wines include Agur, Anatot, Ben Hannah, Castel, Ella Valley Vineyards, Flam, Hans Sternbach, Katlav, Katz, Karmei Yosef (Bravdo), Kella David, La Terra Promessa, Latroun, Mony, Nevo, Nachshon, Sea Horse, Soreq, Srigim, Teperberg, Tsfririm, Tzora, Tzuba, Yehuda.
The main event, at which each of the wineries involved will open and pour their wines will take place at the Leilot Canaan center at Kibbutz Tzora. That event will take place on Thursday, 28 October from 19:00 and on Friday 29 October from 10:00.
Tel Aviv Wine Festival
Held at the Eretz Yisrael Museum, near Tel Aviv University, on 6-7 October, this festival features tastings from many of Israel’s most popular wineries.

Sommelier
Avi Ben Ami’s annual wine exposition, Sommelier, is scheduled to take place on Monday and Tuesday, 8 and 9 November, that event to be set, as it is every year, in Tel Aviv’s Haichal HaTarbut .
This is an event “for the trade” but frequently tickets are sold for those outside of the industry. See my past reports of the Sommelier Wine Festival.
Terravino
A bit controversial, Terravino is
this year’s Terravino is now scheduled to take place between the 21st and 24th of November 2010 at the Daniel Hotel at the Dead Sea. The competition will culminate in a gala dinner on the evening of 24 November. On the weekend immediately following (i.e. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 25, 26 and 27 November) a festival will be held, that open to the general public at which many of the wines in the competition will be available for tasting, those tastings led by members of the judging panel of the competition.
